Understanding Anxiety
Feeling anxious is a normal part of life, but when worry starts to take over it can make even everyday tasks feel overwhelming. You might notice constant “what if” thinking or spiralling thoughts that leave you feeling as though nothing is in your control. Over time, this can leave your body in a state of survival mode, stuck between wanting to change, and feeling too exhausted to do so.
How Counselling Can Help
Having particular interest in anxiety, in our sessions we’ll look at how your anxiety affects your daily life and explore practical ways to manage it, alongside understanding the different types of anxiety and how they might present. We can look in depth at what triggers your anxiety, and how this impacts you physically and emotionally. We’ll also talk about the pressures and expectations unique to your life stage, helping you feel supported and heard.
My counselling style provides a safe, confidential space where you can explore what lies beneath your anxiety. Together, we can:
Some clients like to focus on practical strategies first, while others want to explore the deeper feelings behind their anxiety. As I offer a flexible counselling approach, we’ll work at your pace and focus on what feels most helpful for you.
I'm based in Chorlton if you are looking for face to face support, which is a great location for clients located in Didsbury, Stretford, Withington, and surrounding areas in South Manchester. Sessions are 50 minutes and are also available online or via telephone. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting because we’ll work together to set goals that feel achievable and meaningful, and I’ll support you in trying out new coping strategies between sessions. Throughout our sessions, I will continue to support you to feel calmer, more grounded, more confident, and more present, not feeling controlled by anxious thoughts day to day.
If you’re ready to explore counselling for anxiety, you can get in touch to ask questions or book a free initial consultation session. There is no limit to how many sessions you can have, and I will regularly review our progress with you.
