Understanding Low Self-Esteem


Low self-esteem is something that can develop quietly over time. You might notice a harsh inner critic, when others around you offer praise or support. You might struggle with trusting your own decisions and rely on external validation to move forward. Or it could be that you regularly compare yourself to others, and find that you're slowly withdrawing from situations that once felt manageable, but now seem impossible to face.


How Counselling Can Help with Low Self-Esteem

Counselling for low self-esteem, starts by us working together to recognise how these feelings show up in your day-to-day life. We will then explore where they may have developed from, and how they are affecting the way you see yourself. 


In our counselling sessions, we’ll talk about what influences your self-worth, and how you view your role in personal and professional relationships. Together, we’ll uncover the strengths you already have and begin developing a more confident, compassionate inner voice.

What to Expect in Counselling Sessions building self-esteem & confidence


Some clients focus on practical confidence-building strategies, while others find it helpful to explore deeper emotional patterns. We’ll work gently at your pace and focus on what feels most meaningful for your mental wellbeing.


I'm based in Chorlton if you are looking for face to face support, which is a great location for clients located in Didsbury, Stretford,  Withington, and surrounding areas in South Manchester. Sessions are 50 minutes and are also available online or via telephone. Together, we’ll set goals that feel achievable and supportive. We might work on real-life situations, inner dialogue, boundaries, relationships, or any area where you’d like to feel more secure and empowered.


Over time, counselling can help you feel more grounded, more self-assured, and more connected to who you truly are.
